Prior to his work in film Lionel was renowned as a drummer in rock bands and as a respected music producer. Over two decades Lionel produced over 15 internationally released albums, of which five have become best selling records in territories such as the UK, USA, Germany and Japan.

Having worked on programming for BBC, Channel 4, Five, Discovery and National Geographic in both the UK and US, he became the Senior Editor at London TV before moving into film. His feature film credits include "Patrol Men", "Portobello Road" and "Almost Married" he also wrote and produced ''Science of Attraction'' (MOFILM Barcelona Winner).
